PROJECT DIANA: RADAR REACHES THE MOON
On a cold January morning in 1946, a small band of scientists at Camp Evans in Wall, NJ, using a modified SCR-271 bedspring radar antenna and amping up the power, broadcast a series of radar signals towards the moon and each time picked up an echo 2.5 seconds later, the time required for light to travel to the moon and back--the birth of radar astronomy, the first extraterrestrial communication, and the start of the Cold War. This is the only website devoted exclusively to Project Diana and provides a comprehensive view of its place in scientific, military, political, and social history.

BEATRICE KING: COLLECTED WORKS
Beatrice King (1889-1965) was an American graphic artist, poet, playwright, actor, director, and teacher. It was my great good fortune that she also happened to be my grandmother. Her extant art and poetry are featured on this website.
